Albania - Opportunities for employment
High unemployment in Albania is hitting women particularly hard. Not only are they struggling to gain marketable skills, they are losing out on opportunities even when they have the qualifications and ability to do the job. This project aims to change this. We’re helping women from communities in Lezhe to gain employment by equipping them with the skills that are needed in their local economy. To encourage future success, skilled women in the community are training others in a range of vocational skills, including handicrafts and tailoring. We’re also working with local businesses to encourage employment of newly skilled women and providing the materials and equipment local women need to build a successful business of their own.
